ADEMA Bassist Arrested In Hartford On California DUI Charge
January 31, 2011According to the Hartford Courant, ADEMA bassist David DeRoo was arrested this past Saturday (January 29) in Hartford, Connecticut and charged with being a fugitive from justice.
DeRoo, 36, who faces charges in California of driving under the influence causing bodily injury, was held on a $1 million bond.
According to The Californian, a bench warrant was issued for DeRoo in June 2010 for violating the terms of his probation. The 36-year-old bassist was charged with driving under the influence after a traffic collision on January 11, 2008. He was sentenced to 45 days in jail and three years probation in November 2008 after pleading no contest to DUI causing injury.
Vocalist Marky Chavez recently quit ADEMA for the second time in order to pursue his "solo project." The group was most recently touring as a three-piece, with guitarist Tim Fluckey and DeRoo handling lead vocals.
Original ADEMA guitarist Mike Ransom left the band last year in order to focus on BLACK HEART VACANCY.
ADEMA's latest album, "Kill the Headlights", was released in August 2007 via Immortal Records.
ADEMA in 2006 announced the addition of vocalist Bobby Reeves of the Los Angeles-based band LEVEL to the group's ranks. Reeves joined ADEMA as the replacement for Luke Caraccioli, who left the band in October 2005 — only six months after the release of their first album ("Planets") without the contributions of Chavez.
